| - A dragon kiteshield can be made by using a Dragon sq shield on an anvil with a Hammer and a dragonite shard in your inventory. You need Smithing level 76 to upgrade it and Defence level 60 to wield it. Its release sent RuneScape players wild; on the release date, players were buying it for prices much, much higher than the Grand Exchange price. It is often used along with the Dragon sword, most likely because they were both released at the same time, and are both Dragon metal items. However, its lack of a strength bonus in comparision to other shields makes the Dragonfire shield a more attractive choice for many players. At level 76 Prayer, with a Vial of flames in your inventory, you can bless the shield to become Dragon kite (b), which provides protection from dragonfire like an Anti-dragon shield, making it an appealing alternative to the Anti-dragon shield while fighting dragons. The blessed version of the shield can be traded, but not over the Grand Exchange. You can easily un-bless it by dieing while the blessed shield is with you, as long as it is one of your three 'Items kept on death'. When you respawn, you will have the unblessed shield in your inventory.
