Tropical Depression Gener was designated as a Tropical Depression by the Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA) and the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA); however, the Joint Typhoon Warning Center (JTWC) recorded Gener as being an area of low pressure.
