Los Alamos is a townsite in north-central New Mexico. The townsite had a population of 12,019 as of the 2010 US Census. Los Alamos is most well known as being home of the Los Alamos National Labratory, which was created for the "Manhattan Project" which developed the atomic bomb during World War II.
