Maddie began her competitive cheerleading career at age six at Cheer Extreme Allstars. She attended Mount Airy High School in Mount Airy, North Carolina, where she shone as an honor student and an active participant in the school's student government, Interact Service Club, and cheerleading team. Maddie became captain of her school's cheerleading team in her sophomore year. In addition to being a part of many extracurricular activities and hobbies outside of school, Maddie continuously competed for various Cheer Extreme Allstars teams, including the gym's level five Large Senior All-Girl team, Senior Elite.
