- The band was formed in high school by Thom Yorke and bassist Colin Greenwood. Drummer Phil Selway was added shortly after forming as was guitarist Ed O' Brien. Greenwood's younger brother Jonny would tag along to band practices at their mother's request and after begging to become a member numerous times, he was added as a harmonica player. He soon moved to keyboards and eventually lead guitar.

- Radiohead is an extremely popular Alternative Rock group from England. Originally your usual type of alt-rock band, the sound on their early albums (Pablo Honey, The Bends) gave way to more ambitious albums that incorporated spacey rock (OK Computer) and experimental electronic sounds (Kid A, Amnesiac, Hail to the Thief) before returning to a slightly more mainstream sound (In Rainbows). Their latest album, The King of Limbs, sees the band dabble in electronic experimentation once more, with a distinct dubstep influence in places. Band members: Studio albums: EPs:

- 1992 was a tumultuous time for music, as some musicians died and went to Nirvana, others took inspiration from Indians and played indie rock, and the bands had many guitarists, because anyone can play guitar.(This didn't make the guitarists good, per say, as many favoured the 'play-every-string-at-once-until-it's-just-white-noise' approach. This style was particularly favoured by Sonic Youth and Placebo.) Radio was popular at the time and had not yet switched to talk radio, and many listeners went on to become radioheads.
- The Radioheads, (previously known as 'Bubbleheads') are clank/construct hybrids, and a recurring type of background character in the employ of Baron Klaus Wulfenbach. They look outwardly like very tall and muscular human men, normal execpt that instead of a human head they have the eponymous bubble. This bubble is presumably made of glass and often shows complicated machinery beneath. The Baron aquired them when he defeated Albania. They are used on Castle Wulfenbach for manual labor and physical combat, but are rarely used off of the massive airship due to their unsettling effect on the general population.
- Although Peel played a couple of their initial singles in the early 1990s, he did not appear to find their subsequent albums of interest. However, he did start playing some of their material in 2000 and 2001 when their music took a more experimental direction, and he did have a copy of their 1997 release "Ok Computer" in his Record Collection: R. This is what he said about Radiohead on 19 September 2000:
- The members of Radiohead met while attending Abingdon School, an independent school for boys in Abingdon, Oxfordshire. Guitarist and singer Thom Yorke and bassist Colin Greenwood were in the same year, guitarist Ed O'Brien and drummer Phil Selway in the year above, and multi-instrumentalist Jonny Greenwood two years below. In 1985, they formed On a Friday, the name referring to the band's usual rehearsal day in the school's music room. Jonny Greenwood was the last to join, first on harmonica and then keyboards, but soon became the lead guitarist; he had previously been in another band, Illiterate Hands, with musician Nigel Powell and Yorke's brother Andy Yorke. At one point, On a Friday featured a saxophone section. Oxfordshire and the Thames Valley had an active independent music scene in
