Christopher James Colwill (born 1972) is a solicitor based in Mackay, Qld and a former Australian 400 meters and 800 meters runner. He was born in Brisbane, Qld and educated at the Brisbane Boys Grammar School from 1985 to 1989. On completion of his secondary education he attended the Queensland University of Technology where he completed a Bachelor of Laws degree in 1993. During his studies he attended the 1992 Summer Olympics, held at Barcelona as a reserve member of the 400 meter relay team. In 1994 he suffered hamstring injuries ending his running career.

Some years after admission as a solicitor he moved to Mackay, Qld and now is a Partner in a legal firm, practicing in Family Law, Sport Law and Information Technology Law. He is now married with two children and continues to compete in Masters Athletics, and recently competed at the Oceania Masters in 2008 held in Townsville, Queensland. He will be attending the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing as a voluntary legal advisor for athletes competing for Australia.
