She was also the second oldest living person in Europe behind Emma Morano of Italy, and the 12th oldest living person in the world. Amaury was born in Tracy sur Loire, France on 19 June 1901. She married Gaspard Bernard Amaury in Tracy sur Loire on 31 May 1924. She had 4 children (Ginette, Jacques, Michel and Claude). From 2003 until her death she lived in a retirement home in Amilly. She had 5 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.
