Hall has a reputation for losing his temper during matches, resulting in a lengthy tribunal record. His most recent suspension, however, was in round 15, 2002, when he was suspended for five matches for gouging. Since then, he has played more than 50 matches, indicating that he has achieved greater self-control as his career has progressed. Outside football, Hall is also a talented boxer, and there has been speculation that he will take up a boxing career when his football career ends.
