Equipped with an extensive hangar bay compared to its primary role and size, Murmillo was outfit with several dozen fighters and would frequently augment Repulse or Warspite on strike missions, or take up the role as flagship of the fleet while the heavier warships would be called away. Captain Braddock Sodal was the initial commander of the ship when it joined the Fleet, later to be replaced by Captain Nataly Redfellow after Sodal's departure. Murmillo would later be cornered and captured, with heavy casualties incurred, following a strike at Ansion. Redfellow and her entire command staff would be interred and executed as traitors, with any enlisted crew parsed out to the Imperial penal system for incarceration, work camps, and a long plummet into obscurity. The loss of Murmillo would represent the highwater mark for Admiral Roj's independent actions in the Mid-Rim — within three months, Roj's forces had suffered enough losses of range, scope and resources so as to prompt the Admiral to seek out sanctioned Alliance aid.
