Synopsis
  • Jim Lee reveals some of his preliminary sketches for several character redesigns, explaining his changes and thought process and examining ideas that they felt did and didn't work.
  • Batman is pursuing one of Darkseid's parademons when Gotham PD choppers fire upon both of them. Green Lantern interrupts Batman's fight with the parademon by slamming a light firetruck into it because he has been alerted to the extraterrestrial presence. The choppers fire on Batman and GL but GL blocks their fire with light shields. The parademon recovers and blasts the choppers. GL forms light bat wings which prevent the heroes from getting squashed by the falling choppers. All the time talking to Batman, GL is very cocksure of his ability. Batman and GL move underground in pursuit of the parademon and GL asks Batman "Do you have super-speed?" "No." "Super-strength?" "No." "Wait a minute, you're not telling me you're just some guy in a bat costume? You've gotta be freaking kidding me!" Batman removes GL's power ring without him noticing and asks him how it works. This makes GL even more agitated. Batman replies that he'd be worried about his power ring powered by thought if he considered GL capable of thinking. GL and Batman continue to talk smack to each other until Batman points out the parademon attaching a father box to the sewer wall. With a shout of "For Darkseid!" the parademon blows itself up, attempting to kill Batman and GL in the blast. GL uses his ring to save them. GL scans the box but the ring can't identify it other than being of alien origin. The two agree to go to Metropolis in order to question Superman. GL flies Batman there in a green jet which Batman criticizes as being too overt. Once again, a cocksure GL encases Batman in a light cage and tells him that he can handle Superman. Using super-speed Superman takes GL out of the fight with one punch. He turns around and says to Batman "So, what can you do?"
