The Nebulon-B was a very stable craft, heavily armed for her size, but she had a clear weakness. The Nebulon-B was a very stable craft, heavily armed for her size, but she had a clear weakness. Her long central shaft was lightly armored, and if placed under heavy weapons fire could split the ship in half, killing most if not all of the crew. To deal with this the Mikaru Shipwrights added additional armor to the ships basic, ten meters to the fore and aft, and thickened the central shaft. Where the Nebulon-B had a 'shaft' descending down from the fore of the ship containing sensors, weapons, and the main bridge, this was placed along the central shaft, balancing the ship. The bridge was placed in the direct center of the forward section, defended by shields and layers of armor. The ships Hanger was offset, to the upper port side of the central section. It could hold at max a fighter squadron and 6 shuttles, but the standard load was a squadron and 2 shuttles to make room for unexpected additions. To the Starboard of this was one of the ships large Heavy Dual Turbolaser Cannons, one of three each capable of blasting through the shields of light freighters in quick order. Turbolaser cannons were lined along the forward section of the engine pod, granting the ship heavy forward fire power. These cannons could not train more than a few degrees, making them effective only at the forward arc. Lined along the main hull were 12 point defense heavy lasers capable of being both defensive and offensive weapons. These cannons featured a similar capacitor system to the Type-1000 Turbolaser allowing them to fire much more rapidly than normally permitted. Extending outward from the ships forward section was a long tube, a Missile Tube, capable of magnetically propelling missiles at high speeds as both guided and unguided projectiles. The tube also held a high intensity forward aimed sensor system, designed to penetrate cloaks.
