| - Joe Jones is a former NASCAR driver from Winston-Salem, NC. He competed in twelve Nextel Cup Series events in his career. Jones' debut came in 1961, when he finished a career-best 70th in points. His first race came at Hartsville. It was not a grand race for the driver, starting last (18th) and only improving to 15th. In fact, the rest of his year wasn't fantastic either, earning six DNFs in nine races. However, Jones still earned six top-twenties, bested by a pair of 15ths at Hartsville and Greenville.

Jones' next race came in 1962, when he competed at Concord. Starting 24th in the field of twenty-six, Jones lost his axle early in the event and finished 21st. He fared little better at Weaverville, struggling to a mid-pack 17th place effort. Jones' final career race turned out to be his best, competing at Randleman. Starting 5th in the field of fifteen, Jones fell fourteen laps down in the race in route to a career-best 11th place finish.
