Walter Rankin (1892-17 February 1965) was a printer and Labour Party politician. He was apprenticed as a printer in his native Braintree, Essex, in 1907 where he met his future wife. In 1913 he moved to Birmingham, sat the examinations of the City and Guilds Institute in 1915 and 1916. He moved to London to work at Century Press, Fulham Road, London in 1924. He was manager of South Western Press, Fulham Road, and later of Alfred Couldrey and Charles Pearson, Aldgate, and for various other printing companies. A long term member of Fulham Borough Council, he was Mayor of Fulham 1954-55.
