For some reason, Monkey was nowhere to be seen in the following battle with the swarm of Badniks. Many years later, Monkey was called into action once again when the New Robotnik Empire threatened the Metropolis Zone. As his old gorilla friend smashed together a Caterkiller and a Ball Hog, Monkey prepared to face an Orbinaut alongside Big the Cat. After this, he joined Amy, Norris Wimple and Choy as they defended their homes.
