Sensitivity analysis is a method for investigating the sensitivity of a system's output signal from a certain input signal, i.e. the impact of some environmental change to the system's response. It is therefore a useful tool for evauluating the quality and robustness of a model and for predicting the consequences of pathological states. Another application of sensitivity analysis is metabolic control analysis.
