| - Volundr (Japanese: ボールンドル Volundr) is the eighth and final Gym Leader of the Xeno region's Pokémon League in Pokémon Aether, Nether, and Tether Versions. Residing within the gym of the region's capital, Divya City, he grants the Skill Badge to any Trainer who bests him. Defeating Volundr also allows the player to leave the mainland and visit the Mahima and Nanten Islands, as well as to challenge the Elite Four and Champion in Regina Plateau. The youngest and newest of the eight, Volundr apparenty qualified for the position of Gym Leader a long time ago, but did not initially take the position when offered. Rather, he insisted on waiting and training until the gym in Divya City was available, and eventually managed to work his way up to the position. Developing his skills even further during his time there, Volundr eventually came to be known as the strongest out of the Gym Leaders, and is even believed by most to be on the same level as a member of the Elite Four. While he focuses on Skill, he also emphasizes the previous ideals used in the other Gyms, as it is stated that one needs all of them in order to defeat him. Thus, the Pokémon that make up his team are less constrained by a theme then others, allowing more variety, versatility, and unfortunately for his challengers, difficulty when battling him. As a Gym Leader, he also plays a major role in Pokémon ANT.
