The 1951-35 was a Grand National (now Sprint Cup) event held at Oakland Stadium on October 14, 1951. Marvin Burke, in his only series start, led 158 of the 400 laps in route to victory over Robert Caswell. Many of the elite drivers in the sport, including eventual season champion Herb Thomas, competed in the race at Martinsville instead of coming to Oakland. Stats
