Whitley then went on to the Georgia Institute of Technology (Georgia Tech), where he obtained a Master of Science in Computer Science, Graphics and Visualization and graduated with a 4.0 GPA in 2007. Whitley then began working for Zipper Interactive as a rendering engineer, helping to produce rendering effects for several PS3 titles, including MAG and SOCOM 4. Whitley worked at Zipper Interactive from 2007 until early 2011. In April 2011, Whitley applied to work at Bungie. Following a longer-than-usual 11-hour interview loop, Whitley was hired as a graphics engineer and has worked at Bungie ever since. Along with Chris Tchou (Fu Man), Whitley developed and maintains an FX system allowing FX artists to easily implement a variety of special effects.
