The Phalanx Star Destroyers may be the most impressive ships in Laro, but the Ramparts are the most numerous. The Phalanx Star Destroyers may be the most impressive ships in Laro, but the Ramparts are the most numerous. A joint effort between the three principle planets of the Laro Order, the Rampart is one of the few ships in the Laro Navy intended purely for prolonged ship-to-ship combat. Its primary mission is defending the sovereignty of the government from outside threats. As such it sacrifices speed for power and defense, even foregoing a starfighter hangar to further increase the threat it presents to hostile capital ships. It does, however, sport two smaller docking bays on either side of the hull where it keeps shuttles and assault transports for boarding operations. With their slow speed, the Ramparts are helpless when it comes to chasing down enemy ships and must rely on faster Laro vessels to prevent the quarry from escaping the bite of their guns.
