  • Deku is a bush-creature who used to live in Death Mountain until it erupted, and now lives outside. He is also the Spirit of Fire, and replaces Dariun as a sage in the end. As he flies away, he is red.
  • "Deku" is also a nickname that describes Deku Scrubs.
  • These bush-like "Scrubs" are often in forests mistaken for real bushes. They are indeed made of a woody substance, with leaves or moss growing from their heads like hair (and also facial hair). They are notably shy to strangers, but no less aggressive. The tempers for these creatures are commonly as short at their statures, and in groups can be quite fearsome. Being made of something like wood, the Deku are naturally very hardy, but also light, so that many have been seen gliding around using large leaves. Being bush-like in physical structure also means they have a natural hatred for axes and fire, so it is unwise to bring either in close proximity to a Deku.
