I remember the night that I came up with A Front. KidVegeta was bugging me through AOL IM, as he often does, to produce a new Dragon Ball story. Mostly out of spite, I told him that I would create a new story with Krillin as a superhero. It was created mostly in jest. He thought that it was a ridiculously stupid idea, and I frankly can't blame him for that.

Alas, I started to consider this idea more and more over the coming few weeks and started to think of potential plot ideas, concepts, and themes that I could incorporate into the story. The more I thought about it, the more I liked the idea for the story. After a little while, I ultimately decided to write this story. The story's title, A Front, came from thesaurus.com, as a synonym for "fake". It has a similar meaning to saying "he put on a front". This is greatly important to the theme, which is essentially just that common society forces us to put on a front in order to survive. The page was created on May 1, 2011. This would make it my third multi-chapter fanfiction and the second installment in my human tetralogy. Initially, Tien: Origins and A Front were not going to be interconnected; I came up with the idea to make them connected in chapter 4. The story took me a very long amount of time to finish, around 6 months.
