Bursay frogs, also bursay, were reptilian creatures. A dwarf species existed, the adult of which was the same size as an offspring of the common species. A number of dwarf bursays were exported to Tatooine as pets of Jabba Desilijic Tiure, who enjoyed eating them whole. Large numbers of wild dwarf bursay lived in the deserts during the time of the Galactic Civil War. Bursay meat was appreciated in cookery, though some alien species, including Twi'leks and Rodians, were allergic to this meat.

  • Bursay frogs, also bursay, were reptilian creatures. As a grotesque pastime, people were known to use bursay in their bloated, agitated state for sport, picking them up and throwing them around. "Bursay chuck" would gain some interest in the rest of the galaxy after the Clone Wars, and these creatures would be exported to many worlds for this purpose. Bursay meat was appreciated in cookery, though some alien species, including Twi'leks and Rodians, were allergic to this meat. Bursay were known to be mouth breeders, with the male carrying fertilized eggs inside its mouth for three months — forcing the male to fast until the young were born. From birth, bursay frogs could substain themselves instinctively (and gruesomely). It was not unknown for unhatched bursay eggs to be swallowed by larger fish, creatures later killed in a grisly manner when the new-born young chewed their way out of the fishes stomach. This could also occur if it swallowed young bursays alive.
