Thundertank that was part of the Playful Toyline was based on the 80's version ThunderCats series vehicle ThunderTank. Like its LJN counterpart, the toy featured the spring open action where by pushing a button on its back caused it to switch to attack mode. In the attack mode, the vehicle's jaws open, its claws are raised to reveal hidden guns, and its back hatch doors open up to reveal a pivoting cannon gun. The vehicle could seat two figures (not included), one at the front and one in the back, and did not require any batteries to operate.

There wasn't any noticeable difference between the Playful and LJN version of this toy.
