- Mickey Malone was too young to fight during the war, so he worked as a boy mechanic. He wanted to fight so badly that he built his own plane. He joined up with similar fliers and led the Phoenix Squadron as the Phantom Eagle. The Phoenix Squadron is made up of Pierre (France), Hendrik Voorhees (Holland), Sven (Norway), Josef (Poland), Hans (Denmark), Nickolas (Greece), and their girl pal, Jenny. After World War II ended, he was appointed "Guardian of the Airways" by International Airlines.
