- Since being revealed on the Dojo, volumes of Iwata Asks have been updated every weekday, in a manner similar to that of the Dojo itself. Throughout the interview, Sakurai frequently adds video clips and pictures from a report he made back in the first stages of Brawl's development on what Sakurai wanted Brawl to be.
- Iwata Asks refers to a series of interviews that featured Nintendo's late president, Satoru Iwata, asking other Nintendo developers about the development of recently released titles. On one unique occasion, Masahiro Sakurai of Kirby and Super Smash Bros. fame did an interview in Iwata's place when he was gone for E3. Most of the games are for Wii, though every once and awhile the game will be for the Nintendo DS, Nintendo 3DS, and/or Wii U. They took a break in 2014 with only one interview for the year.
