For a long while his life held no sorry, nothing that would make him unhappy. He liked his school, he liked helping his dad on their small farm, and he loved his siblings. However, out of all three, his sister was his favorite. His two younger brothers were twins, and they could take care of themselves well enough. Forrest felt protective over his sister, and he rarely ever shouted at her, or was angry at her for anything. It was not to last however, because one day something happened that made him feel like everything was shattered. Bella fell ill, and over the next week she struggled to live. Forrest barely slept the whole time, begging her to stay. Begging her not to leave their family forever, even though he knew she couldn’t promise him that. On the eighth day of her sickness, Bella died. Forrest raged at his mother and father, and never spoke to his brothers except to shout at them. He fell into terrible depression, and his parents struggled to keep him alive, to keep their son from killing himself. But as many know, it takes more than food and water to live. One must have the will to stay alive, and for Forrest, it just wasn’t there. Mathew and Nathan tried talking to their brother, and tried convincing him it was all right, that life was still out there. It went on like this for a whole year. Then came the day when Jamie showed up at the front porch of their farm. She was looking for a place to stay. Maybe for just a few days. Forrest was buried too deeply inside himself to notice her. The days dragged on, and Forrest’s parents asked her to stay with them for a while. They offered to let her help on the farm, for some payment so that she wouldn’t have to run from place to place. Mathew and Nathan were already gone to college for their first year, so it was only Forrest, Maria (mother), Isaac (father), and Jamie. Jamie couldn’t stand to watch Forrest sit around all day. So one day the twenty one year old was shoved outside, and given a pail. Jamie made him help with the work, and the whole time Forrest went around in a sort of daze. He did help, but it wasn’t the work, or the sunshine splaying over everything and lighting up the brilliant colors of the planet, that snapped him out of his depression three months after Jamie’s arrival. It was Jamie. Forrest was definitely in love the moment she forced him outside and he saw her, really saw her, for the first time. At first, Forrest wouldn’t admit to anyone that he was in love with Jamie, because he figured she didn’t feel the same way about him. It wasn’t like that of course, because she did, and he just never saw it. Finally, after two years of Jamie’s work, Forrest’s father snapped at him one day and said he had better ask Jamie to marry him before everyone died of old age. So he did. One day he really did it, and didn’t think she would say yes. But she did say yes, which almost made Forrest pass out with relief right then and there. So they were married, and had their first child, Faith, soon after. Two other daughters followed suit. Chia, and Gloria. Forrest used to have a teaching job, but has decided to join the NR as a medic.Family
