Evstratios Garidas (Latinized as Eustratius Garidas) was the Ecumenical Patriarch of Constantinople between 1081 and 1084. A eunuch and an Eastern Orthodox monk, Garidas was given the position by Byzantine Emperor Alexios I Komnenos through the actions of the emperor's mother. Survivng accounts suggest Garidas was uneducated and gullible. His brief term was marred by accusations of wrong-doing and even heresy. While he was ultimately cleared, he nonetheless stepped down from the patriarchy.
