In the youngest generation, with Hapes starting to let down its guard and consider trading with the rest of the world, the family firm is looking into tapping into the growing import and export market... specifically, this arm of the business has been entrusted to Altera, Sev’s twin. Those claims to nobility are strong enough that the family is permitted to skirt the fringes of the royal court, though that is of course an option reserved for the women of the family; Sev’s mother, his redoubtable Aunt Makariah and his twin sister. Still, there isn’t a woman in the Mainard clan who doesn’t dote on him, pretty little thing that Sev is, and it’s as close to influence at court as he - or most men in his position - are ever likely to get.
