The Megellanic Penguin or Spheniscus magellanicus is a species of penguin classed as 'near threatened' on the IUCN Red List. It appeared in the Animals We're Helping Catalog during Earth Day 2012. There is a theorized 1.3 million pairs of Megellanic Penguin in the world, however, during Coins for Change in 2014, Club Penguin helped raise money for them in hopes to further increase their living standards.
