The Battle of Hollywood was a battle from March 28-31 during the Japanese invasion of the United States, and was fought between the Japanese Imperial Army and the American defense garrison in Los Angeles, which regrouped in Hollywood to make an last stand after losing the First Battle of Los Angeles. The initial battle began when Japanese aircraft bombed Hollywood, killing numerous civilians and dozens of the garrison. When the Japanese stormed the American defenses, most were cut down by machine guns, but when the Japanese tanks came down the streets, the Americans fled to San Bernardino.
