Euphoria Down are an American sludge doom metal band from New York, formed in 1995. The band consists of Peter Eriksen (vocals), John Monten (guitar), Dimitri Medelei (bass) and Loius Webber (drums). The band have cited Type O Negative and Pentagram as major influences, and play very slow psychedelic doom metal, with lyrical themes ranging from drugs to renaissance times. Although they describe themselves as predominately sludge doom, Peter Eriksen has stated the band are also gothic metal, in the same vein as Type O Negative, stating he adopted his vocal style from Peter Steele of Type O Negative.
