Zoram was a Nephite chief captain charged with recovering those captured by the Lamanites during the destruction of Ammonihah. Zoram and his sons, Lehi and Aha requested the high priest over the church, Alma, to ask the Lord where they should go to rescue their people. Alma said that the Lamanites will cross the river Sidon in the south wilderness, beyond the borders of the land of Manti. He said to meet them on the east of the river Sidon, and the Lord would give them the victory. Zoram and his sons took their armies and did so, and the Lamanites were driven into the wilderness and all of the captives rescued.
