The Southern rocky mountains wolf (Canis lupus youngi), also known as the Southern rockies wolf, the Southern rocky mountains gray wolf, the Southern rocky mountains common wolf, and the Great basin gray wolf, was a subspecies of the gray wolf, (Canis lupus), that used to roam in the regions in and around Nevada, Arizona, Utah, and Colorado. The subspecies was named after Stanley P. Young. It became extinct in 1935.
