| - __TOC__
- Combat medics (also known as medics) are military personnel who have been trained to at least an EMT-Basic level (16 week course in the U.S. Army), and who are responsible for providing first aid and frontline trauma care on the battlefield. They are also responsible for providing continuing medical care in the absence of a readily available physician, including care for disease and battle injury. Combat medics are normally co-located with the combat troops they serve in order to easily move with the troops and monitor ongoing health.
- Combat Medic is one of the companion perks in Fallout 4.

It becomes available at Support Rank V.
- This profession requires 121 skill points to master, 58 of which go towards prerequisites. XP requirements to master, including prerequisites:
* 6,025,000 Medical XP (granted for using medical abilities on others during combat)
- Issued first in 1986, the Combat Medic was a reissue of the Casting first released in 1977 (Letter Getter).
- Prerequisite: Trained in Heal Benefit: You administer first aid to stabilize a dying creature as a minor action, instead of a standard action. You also gain a +2 feat bonus to Heal checks.[PH2:184][HotFL:311][HotFK:311]
- The Combat Medic is arguably the most important member of a squad, as it is their job to heal and revive friendly infantry and MAX units. The Medic has access to the Nano-Regen Device and Regeneration Field abilities and the Medical Applicator tool.
- Being the designated healer is a necessary job, but it isn't a glamorous one. While everyone else is having all the fun mixing it up with the bad guys, the medic is stuck in the back watching life bars go up and down, and throwing out the occasional Status Buff. They don't want to be up front, because they're squishy as hell and everyone's gunning for them. This is usually not a problem when one player's controlling an entire party, but this starts to break down in cases where one guy's playing the support. While some are perfectly fine with this (being the medic means you'll get invited to just about any party), for others the support classes just aren't that exciting.
