Dionysis Vitsos is a Greek writer, publisher, and translator with Periplous, a publishing company. Born in the Ionian island Zante, Creece in 1956. He studied Law and Economics in Athens University. He worked in the Cultural Foundation of the National Bank of Greece for 18 years, as a manager of a Greek publishing house for 3 years, as a theater critic and as a radio producer. Since 1984, he has published the cultural magazine Periplous and he is the manager of the Periplous Publications publishing house.

He has translated 25 books, especially literature and ancient Greek and roman writers into the modern Greek language. Many of his articles and essays have been published in magazine reviews and newspapers, as well as in scientific reviews and books.
