abstract
  • Mark Gold was elected to Parliament in 2853. In 2867, Mark Gold was easily elected leader of the SDP. Gold named Jennifer Moon to serve as his Deputy Leader and Vice Presidential candidate. It is known that the two did not have a good relationship and that Gold only nominated Moon in order to win female votes. Ultimately he was easily elected President of the Republic of Baltusia. 13 months after being sworn in as President, Gold suffered a bleeding aneurysm in his brain that caused a massive stroke. Originally his prognosis was that he would live, but that he would need over a year of extensive therapy, leading to the conclusion that he should resign (something he vowed not to do until Moon did). However, massive bleeding into his brain led to his hasty death. As a result, his Vice President, Jennifer Moon, became president despite his final wish for her to step down to allow Gifford Rothschild to take the oath instead.
