The LCL, when it was first founded, featured four teams, the Noble City Thunderers, the Hurbanova Knights, the Portland New Cricket Club and the Kinley Panthers. From 2006 to 2012 (including a two-year hiatus from 2010 to 2011 due to the unstable political environment in Lovia at that time), the LCL had eight teams, and in 2013 it expanded to nine. The LCL's competitive matches are in the List A (50-over) format, though first-class and Twenty20 matches are sometimes held as friendlies at the beginning or end of seasons.
