The Architect left a memo in one of the rooms, which was found by Bruce McGivern whilst he searched the facility.

The fate of the Architect is unknown, although it is possible that he was one of the zombies that became infected with the T-Virus at the facility, and was killed by Morpheus or survived and was currently not at the facility at the time of the outbreak.
