  • Paramount Television was the main production company behind Wings. It was founded in 1967 after Gulf+Western bought Desilu Productions (known for I Love Lucy, Mission: Impossible, and Star Trek). The company operated under the names Paramount Network Television (for first run broadcast shows) and Paramount Domestic Television (for syndicated shows and repeats) On March 11, 1994 (during the fifth season of Wings), the studio became part of the Viacom media conglomerate, which in 2006 became CBS Corporation and spun off a new Viacom that owned the Paramount Pictures film studio (whose home video division would still release Wings on DVD) among other companies. CBS took over all of Viacom's broadcasting assets which included Paramount Television. The company was split into two divisions CBS Paramount Network Television, and CBS Paramount Domestic Television. It was announced in Fall 2006 CPDT would combine with KingWorld Productions to form CBS Television Distribution. In 2009 CBS' license to use the Paramount name expired, and the company quietly dropped the CPNT name. The studio was rebranded as CBS Television Studios. The former Paramount shows including "Wings" are now copyrighted to CBS Studios, Inc. CBS Television Distribution is now responsible for the syndication of "Wings".
