For some Humans, this will be the first aggressive beast that you will encounter, if you grind in the forest patch between Northshire and Stormwind, or if you just wander around. For others, the first aggressive beast will be the Forest Spider or the Bandit. Mangy Wolves are dangerous Wolves found throughout the main wooded areas of Elwynn Forest. Unlike Timber Wolves, they will attack unprovoked if you get too close. Another difference between Mangy and Timber Wolves is that Mangy Wolves are native to Elwynn, as Timber Wolves are suspected to have originated in Duskwood. Mangy Wolves can also be found travelling alongside Young Wolves, in a small patch of forest between Stormwind City and Northshire Valley. Upon attacking either of the two, the other will aggro no matter how far apart they are, as if they are 'linked'.
