| - The Human Legion was a volunteer unit of Human soldiers and officers serving the Confederacy of Independent Systems. It was the largest volunteer legion in the Separatist Droid Army, having around 750,000 personnel, organized in 250 battalions, which themselves were divided into nine corps-sized formations. It was led by Tao Vander, a general who defected from the Grand Army of the Republic a few weeks after the Battle of Geonosis in 22 BBY. The Legion's soldiers were mainly defectors from the Republic Volunteer Army, an organization of non-clone forces that fought for the Galactic Republic. Morale and discipline in the army was low, and thousands defected to the CIS. Later in the war, the Legion also dropped propaganda leaflets urging people to join them.

However, not all Humans fighting for the CIS were in the Human Legion. Officers who were serving prior to the creation of the Legion and those serving in the Confederate Navy were not part of the Legion. Human mercenaries and volunteers from various planets also joined the Legion. The unit also possessed about a company's worth of clone trooper defectors. It was given training, such as most volunteer legions were, by commando droids. Separatist propaganda and numerous successes against the Republic kept morale high, and the CIS planned on creating a "New Republic" puppet state after winning the war, with Vander as it's leader and the Human Legion forming the base of it's military. The Legion was armed with weaponry made for droids, prompting raids on weapons factories to arm itself with proper blasters. During the Clone Wars, the Legion fought on many fronts, and various Separatist commanders, including General Grievous, noted the Legion's effectiveness. It fared better than most other volunteer legions, largely due to it's numbers, and the fact that the CIS command considered it a bigger priority. It was disbanded after the war, though some 21,000 members fought for the Separatist holdouts. Vander was captured and executed for treason on Coruscant by the Galactic Empire.
