Ortiz was a noted violinist who was scheduled to perform the second concert occurring around stardate 43133.3. Data suggested that Picard and Beverly Crusher attend the concert that Ortiz was performing in, rather than the first concert that Data himself was performing in, because Data believed that his rendition "will be less enjoyable" than Ortiz's.
