The Battle of Space Station Liberty was a conflict fought between the Haydonites and the Robotech Expeditionary Force which marked the onset of the Fourth Robotech War. Shortly after the Battle of Reflex Point, the Regess departed the planet Earth with all the stores of Protoculture. With the Invid escaping defeat, the Awareness decided to proceed with its plans in eliminating all races that used Protoculture. This led to them dispatching their fleet to attack Space Station Liberty where they managed to use their Disruptor Wave to cause Shadow Technology equipped craft in the REF to malfunction whereupon they imploded.

Following the devastation of the first combat defense line, the Haydonites moved to secure their victory but their fleet was seemingly destroyed when Captain Vince Grant detonated the stations Neutron-S missiles.
