Igor has brought a new dog into Castle Frank N. Stein. A skeptical Chuck D. Head tries to pet him but the playful dog bites him, turning his arm to jelly. Professor Frank N. Stein bursts out of his laboratory, angry about all the noise, but relents when he sees the "cute little puppy dog". He goes to pet it (despite Head's advice) and the dog leaps onto Frank's head, half devouring him. After learning what happened (he thought the lights had gone off), Frank orders Igor to do something, so the servant tries to put a muzzle on his dog. This plan fails, with Igor made to wear it.

Unfortunately, the dog barks loudly, surprising Frank into destroying his whole project. Furious, Frank builds a kennel for the dog and angrily rebuffs Igor's excuses. The professor moves to put a leash on the "mutt", but is bitten and has to sleep in the kennel himself...
