Bennett Cerf (1898-1971) was famous for his appearances on What's My Line? He is the father of Sesame Street writer Christopher Cerf. He was parodied by Sesame Street with the character Bennett Snerf. A co-founder of Random House publishing, Cerf authored nearly a dozen books, and one of the stories in the book Famous Ghost Stories (which he edited) was adapted into an episode of The Twilight Zone.
