The RX170 (1994–1995, rosewood fretboard) and RX170 (1994–1996, maple fretboard) were offered concurrently in the European and United States markets, respectively. Despite the similar model name these models have numerous differences from this RX170B including wood bodies, chrome hardware and different pickups and tremolo. The RX170B was sold only in Japan and discontinued after 1995.
