  • North Road X was a 5 storey tower block on the North Road housing estate in the Renfrewshire town of Johnstone, near Glasgow. It was built along with 9 other identical blocks on the north side of North Road. Terraced houses and two storey flats were built on the southern side. They were built in the early 1960s, primarily to accommodate overspill from Glasgow's slums as the town was at the time the fastest growing in Scotland. The blocks were made up of flats on the ground floor and maisonettes on the 2nd and 4th floors. The blocks, although initially popular, were empty for years before they were demolished in 2004 as part of regeneration of Johnstone's housing stock.
