  • Solidarity Forever is the current national anthem for the Democratic Republic of the Pacific and was adopted by the National Assembly on 8 December 2009. The song was selected not to reflect labor unions, as it was originally intended, but to reflect the union of a nation bombarded by threats from all sides of its borders. It became popular during the Pacifican War among Pacifican soldiers as a patriotic tune for the new nation. Based off of the American Civil War-era march "Battle Hymn of the Republic", it identified with those on the Pacifican side who believed they were fighting for a just and democratic cause whereas the Union in the American Civil War was fighting for to maintain the liberties and freedoms of the American republic. The lyrics originated from Ralph Caplin's Solidarity Forever, written in 1915 to support the labor union movement. Modified during the war to change its meaning from labor unions to the union of the country, the tune caught on within the military. On 8 December 2009, the song was adopted by the IInd National Assembly of the Democratic Republic of the Pacific as the national anthem, replacing the former Washington State song Washington, My Home
