It was run by Mr. Hairynose, who secretly planned to rob the city blind through the same company. Benny Breakiron and his friend Jules Dussiflard first dealt with the company when one of their taxis showed up to pick up a customer that Jules was going to drive to his destination, only for the company to react to their competition by vandalizing Jules' car. Jules dealt with the vandalism by addressing the company owner Mr. Hairynose, but just as it seemed that they came to a mutual agreement with each other, Jules later learned Mr. Hairynose's true intentions with his company and was soon captured and put into confinement. Benny eventually allowed himself to be captured by the employees of the Red Taxi Company so that he could break his friend Jules out of confinement and bring Mr. Hairynose to the police, but Benny ended up catching a cold that nullified his powers, and both Benny and Jules were then sent on board a ship to be taken to the Galapagos Islands so they would not interfere with Mr. Hairynose's plans. On the day that his plan "Operation Taxi" took place, Mr. Hairynose had one of his employees knock out the power to the entire city with another employee flew around in a helicopter to dump what appeared to be radioactive particles upon the city, causing its citizens to react in a panic while the other employees went ahead with robbing the city. Benny, who managed to return to the city alone, singlehandedly stopped the robbery and exposed Mr. Hairynose for what he truly was, causing him to be caught by the police. By the end of the story, the Red Taxi Company was put out of business.
