Douglas J. Feith (born July 16, 1953) served as the Secretary of Defense under President Richard Cheney for nine monhts in 2004 and early 2005, assuming that position following the resignation of his predecessor, Donald Rumsfeld, in light of the Abu Ghraib prison torture scandal. Feith had previously served as the Under Secretary of Defense for Policy since 2001.
